On Dec 1, 2024 local time, “The First European Shaolin Kungfu Open” was successfully held in Athens, the capital of Greece. Master Yanliang, secretary general of the European Shaolin Federation, and chair Wang Deqing of the World Chan Wu Union, as special guests were present to guide the work.

The event was hosted by the Martial Arts Association of Greece and the Shaolin Cultural Center of Greece. The competition attracted more than 600 players from 16 countries participating, with more than 2, 000 audience. And this has become an important platform to carry forward Chinese martial arts and promote China-Europe cultural changes.

Before the competition, the organization committee showed abbot of Shaolin Temple the Grand Monk Yongxin’ s blessing video. He said, “Shaolin Kungfu is China’ s national invisible cultural heritage and also the world’ s known cultural heritage. It is hoped that participators could show their high level and cherish friendship, and harvest health and peace through the competition meanwhile giving their positive energy to family, society and individuals.
